WAKESHOP VERDICT

Our take.

Compare with the Classic 40" for a more traditional symmetrical all-round ride, the Classic Furious for a wider trick and landing-focused shape, or the Plus Old Skull for a more advanced version of the Old Skull concept.
9.0 /10
One of the most distinctive wakeskates in the Classic range. Its 80s skateboard-inspired shape, long nose, rounded tail and asymmetrical rocker give the Old Skull a playful, surfy character that encourages carving, side-hits and creative park riding. It still has enough pop and control for freestyle progression, but its real strength is making the whole park feel like something to play with.
WHO IT SUITS

Is this the right wakeskate for you?

BEST FOR
Beginner to intermediate riders who enjoy carving, side-hits, park features and creative freestyle riding and want a playful alternative to a traditional symmetrical wakeskate.
×
NOT IDEAL FOR
Riders who want a conventional symmetrical shape for switch-heavy technical tricks, or those looking for the smallest and quickest wakeskate possible for advanced flip tricks.
WHY WE STOCK IT

Why it earns a place in our range.

The Old Skull offers something genuinely different from a conventional symmetrical wakeskate. Its asymmetrical shape is designed around turns, carving and creative riding while retaining proper freestyle capability, making it a great option for riders who see more in a wakepark than simply learning tricks in a straight line.

Why we'd choose it
Best for Creative Riding
Choose the Rove Karver if carving and relaxed freeriding matter more to you than technical tricks. Its larger surface area and three deep fins give it exceptional tracking, stability and grip through committed turns.
Choose The Barnyard if you want a fun, approachable wakeskate that prioritises confidence, predictable control and all-round progression rather than an uncompromising pro-level technical feel.
Choose the Keaton Bowlby if you want maximum pop from a technical wood-core wakeskate. Its larger 40" platform, higher concave and precise symmetrical shape combine strong board control with explosive performance for advanced tricks.
